Minnesota's unbeaten start meets Detroit's home strength
Minnesota has won all its completed games, with a succession of low-scoring wins after the opener. Detroit has won every home game in the saved sample. The records point to a compelling contest, but the model sees a much narrower gap than either run of results alone might suggest.
Both teams have a positive deep-passing area in the model: Minnesota to the right and Detroit to the left. Those areas account for relatively small shares of their offensive samples. The larger question is which side can keep moving the ball without depending on those occasional gains.
Gibbs and St. Brown returning to full practice restores important options for Goff. Minnesota is watching Jones' knee, while O'Neill's return to full work helps the protection picture. Jefferson and Hockenson give Murray established outlets in a matchup where one stalled scoring drive could be costly.
